Special topics in Law and Society; International Security and International Law

Jointly offered with GVPT409I. An examination of the role of international law in regulating and influencing the behavior and actions of states and non-state actors in a range of security issue areas. Students will be introduced to theoretical and empirical studies on the role of law in international security affairs based on academic readings and scholarship. Students will apply theories and insights from academic scholarship on international law to contemporary international security issues and to think about the policy relevance of the course readings.
