MSML640 Expecting a B Anonymous 03/31/2026 |
This course covers material that is genuinely interesting, but the workload feels excessive. The midterm alone involved a GitHub repository project, presentation slides, a video demo, and a discussion post with replies, in addition to a separate in-class midterm exam that was quite challenging. There was also an assignment due over spring break, and some rubric expectations were not clearly reflected in the README. Overall, it can feel like a struggle to keep up with the amount and density of the material while also managing assignments, quizzes, activities, and exams. The instructor seems to have very high expectations, but lectures often only provide a brief introduction to the topics. As a result, the exams seem to demand a much deeper understanding than what is fully developed in class, especially since the assignments are more focused on coding than on building conceptual connections. |

Her delivery is very disengaging. She just reads of the slides and whenever students asks to clear their doubts she is not able to give satisfactory answers. The assignments, midterm and final exams were unnecessarily hard. Even for a 2 mark assignment, the requirement was to give report, in class presentation, submit your presentation along with the code. Most of the assignments are itself generated by ai but she discourages Ai to be used, how ironic. In my opinion, she is very rigid in her approach and doesn’t entertain new ideas. Not a class that I would recommend you to take unless you wanna get doomed. |

She is mostly reads slides in a dry manner, lacks energy and her exams are unnecessarily difficult. She is very strict and there is no learning from this course. For me it was very monotonous and non-engaging. The slides and the course structure is badly designed as well. |

The instructor is a kind, approachable and well-meaning person. But, the quality of teaching did not meet expectations for this course. Lectures largely consisted of reading directly from slides (sourced from Stanford and other colleges) with minimal additional explanation or clarification, which made understanding the extremely material challenging without extensive self-study. The assignments were extremely time-consuming, and while bonus points were offered, they were typically worth only one or two points despite requiring significant extra effort. |

Run away , if you want a course with light work, you would have to perform multiple experiments and analysis just for few marks, and the scope of learning is not that good if you try to learn them independently |
