PHIL412 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/11/2024 |
Dr. Singpurwalla makes her lectures understandable and entertaining (which I imagine is difficult to do when they're about ancient Greek philosophy). She's super approachable and very open to help, answer questions, etc. Make sure you're keeping up with the readings for each week, or at least pay attention in lecture if you haven't done them so you can do the in-class writing activities. She appreciates thorough, thoughtful writing. Would definitely recommend. |

PHIL412 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 12/11/2018 |
This was an online course, but i had the experience of having her as a TA for PHIL310 so I knew who she was and what she was like. For this term, she was my instructor for the online class PHIL412 The works of Plato. There is one big conference style paper she wants you to write and she even suggests a thesis to work on if you do not have one of your own. She was really encouraging about mine. I emailed her quite a bit and she was pretty responsive towards the beginning but I guess as the assignments were getting closer to the due dates she might have overlooked my messages. She requires you post a thought in a discussion forum on elms 10 times during the semester. In addition you have to respond to other peoples posts with a little more substance 10 times as well. Since this was the works of plato it was imperative to keep up with the readings of the republic to participate in the discussions. She was very helpful and nice on the writing of the papers. There is no problem with Dr. Gipe. Take a class with her in confidence. |
