You Zhou PHYS431 Expecting an A Anonymous 11/09/2025	Structure of the course is 1 midterm exam and 1 final. Homeworks are between 2 to 5 questions and consistent with example problems from Kittel. Exam and homework problems were very similar and the focus of the exam was mainly the first two chapters. Would describe this class as more of an "overview" and introduction.
Ichiro Takeuchi PHYS431 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/08/2023	He is an average professor. As other reviews have commented, he is a good lecturer and explains things well. He writes everything down, making it easy to review material that may have been forgotten. However, his homeworks were rough. They often did not relate to lecture topics, and the textbook rarely had information relating to the relevant topics. This necessitated students to research online for material and explanations for homework topics. Exams were fair, and he was understanding of deadlines. However, he is not very helpful with answering questions over email so ideally ask him questions after the lecture.
