The course content is interesting and engaging, but DO NOT (I repeat DO NOT) take this course online. They are extremely disorganized and confusing, and not responsive when asking for clarification. The assignments are not modified to fit the online expedited format so you will have to ask for clarification, but good luck getting it in time. I emailed the TA the day before an assignment was due (due at 11:59) and I did not get a response until the day AFTER it was due. They also revoked access to sign-ups for the project so we can't even check which dates we signed up for. Good luck getting responses in a reasonable time. It's an online course, communication is KEY so I don't understand what the issue is. Maybe I'm just raging, but it really shouldn't be this difficult. |

Don't take the winter semester. Its very short so you would expect all the coursework readily available to you. This is not the case. Sometimes, there is an entire module due at 11:59 and yet the lectures and materials are not even released for that day yet. Everything is dependent on her schedule and the time that she releases material, although there are still strict deadlines to which you have to adhere. |

professor tomlinson is a very pleasant professor. she explains things very well and likes it when the class participates. sometimes the readings are long but you can usually skim them and pass the reading quizzes. the discussion boards are pretty easy too. i liked doing the facilitations, which are guaranteed 100% if you submit them on time and are present on the day of your topic. the only downside is that some of her slides could've been more detailed but you'll do fine in her class! |

i've had her for three classes now and she's one of the kindest and most understanding and engaging professors I've had. She actually cares about the material and teaches it in a way that actually helps you learn it, not just some monotone lecture. and she gives out so many opportunities for points in her classes that it's kinda hard to fail if you just attend class, take good notes, do your assignments, and email her when you need more time on them. she actually cares about the well-being of her students. ignore the negative ratings about her tbh i swear you will love her class |
