The projects in this course are pretty cool, and Dr. Jones has structured the course and material to be interesting and engaging (not always, but good enough). Most of your grade stems from projects, and I found the grad TA to be very helpful. Whether or not you're interested in I/O, this class really reinforces and expands upon stats and R coding, making it helpful either way. Dr. Jones is also so cute sometimes especially when he gets excited about statistics and coding. Take this class!

This course took up a moderate amount of time - less than psyc300 by alot though. The R is minimal; there is 1 project on ANOVA (easy), 1 project on regression (slightly harder but this was the most useful project, and you get a lot out of learning how to build regression models and compare them statistically), 1 project on mediation (complete repeat from psyc300, not too useful but not too hard), 1 project on moderation (goes more in depth than psyc300 and I really think I got alot from this one too). The weekly readings take only a few hours - and the notes maybe 1-2 more. Oh, also Dr. Jones is awesome and very fair. He takes a lot of time to make sure the class runs smoothly. Overall, well designed course that is easy if you take your time on assignments and think about what is going on in your code.

Amazing, empathetic, intelligent, and accommodating professor. The TA was also phenomenal. He is kind and personable and flexible, as well as knowledgable in what he teaches. I personally hate hate hate coding and R, and this was not a class that I wanted to take, but I can now say I am so glad I did. It was a pleasure taking this class and learning so much, as well as having such a wonderful professor. I still am not a fan of coding, but I'm a fan of Alisha and Prof. Jones! Slay

Dr. Jones is a pretty understanding and lenient guy but the lab portion of this course absolutely sucks. Although I'm pretty good at R, a few of the projects are group projects, which is stupid bc your grade then depends on other people's work, and many times the 2-hour lab alone is not enough time to complete the project with your group members. His current grad TA also docks points for every little error imaginable, even on the weekly discussion notes which are supposedly "low stake" grades. I anticipate an A, but it is ridiculously annoying how hard I have to fight to maintain my grade
