PSYC489T Expecting an A- Anonymous 09/24/2024 |
I took PSYC489T in Spring '24. The class meets up once a week for about two hours. The weekly readings are really extensive, but the material covered is very interesting. Reading is a MUST for you to understand the course. The first half of every class is just a recap of the readings, and the second hand is just a discussion of their content. We get graded based on weekly discussion questions, a group presentation, and a final exam (taken online). Take this class if you are interested in group dynamics, and the psychology of motivated aggression! The class is really rewarding, yet it is also graded very fairly (I think everyone will get more or less an A or A-). As for Professor Kruglanski, you can tell he's really passionate and knowledgeable about his work, but he never comes off as condescending or arrogant. There are no "dumb questions", he'll gladly explain and connect concepts one doesn't understand. He's prone to going off on tangents but no one really stopped him because people enjoyed what he had to say. Everyone in the class ended up really liking Professor Kruglanski, and we even gave him a farewell gift/card at the end of the semester! Don't take the class if you're shy/don't like speaking up in class, because participation is mandatory (he'll call on people for their insight). |
