Jeffrey Lucas SOCY223 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 10/16/2025	I really enjoyed this class. It’s all about conspiracies-why people believe them, how they spread, and what they say about society. Super interesting and honestly kind of fun to talk about in class. The workload is pretty light. Participation is mandatory, but it’s just about showing up and doing the in-class notecard activity, which is easy points. My section was hybrid, so I also had an online quiz every week, but nothing too stressful. Exams were fair, just a bit long sometimes. You can’t exactly raw-dog them, so some prep time helps, but if you review the material, you’ll do fine. Professor Lucas is a really nice and understanding guy. He’s chill about extensions if you have a legit reason and genuinely wants students to do well. Overall, it’s an interesting and pretty easy Gen Ed. Expect maybe 2-4 hours of work outside of class per week. Definitely worth taking if you’re into social stuff or curious about how conspiracy theories work.
