Dr. Chuang is an amazing professor. You can tell she genuinely cares about what she is teaching by the way she engages with the class about the content. There were 2 papers that she continuously offered to give feedback on throughout the semester. She's always willing to answer any questions whether that be about content, grades, or quizzes. She also does practice quizzes in class which is super helpful when wanting to know what to expect. I totally recommend and would love to take a course with her again! |

The lectures are very engaging and interesting and they often result in class-wide discussions. The lectures are done in tandem with several in class activities such as a trade/economy simulation game we played on the first day, the business case, several debates, and writing a mock letter to the current president regarding thoughts on his policies. The professor is very open to questions and feedback and will always respond to questions posed in class or via email. Her grading is also very fair and timely. There are reading assignments which are quite lengthy sometimes, but they are discussed in detail in class (and these are the only regular homework assignments). There are two papers in this class, but we are given ample time to write them and she is always open to clarification questions. The word counts are always minimums, so if you like to write or often have lots of ideas when writing these papers are really quite fun to write. The professor is also very understanding about time issues, for example, I had a back to back class and she was totally understanding that I needed to leave 5 minutes early once a week to get to that class. Additionally, she was willing to teach Friday classes via zoom, so that we didn't need to travel to the classroom on Fridays. Overall really interesting class and wonderful professor! |

She is very good at explaining things when you ask, but you must pay attention to all the readings and videos assigned. There are only essays, quizzes, and one group assignment, so you can risk your grade if you aren't consistently taking notes and reading. She is pretty lenient with deadlines if you communicate! She did not take attendance, but if you miss class at the wrong time you risk missing something on the quiz. |

You have to be comfortable with a fast-paced course to do well in this course. Since she doesn't give many assignments, you have to do well with the few quizzes she gives, as well as the presentation and any essays. She is flexible! If enough people need an extension, she will give it! If you skip, you risk missing information on the few quizzes you get. Readings are also a main point of focus that you must keep up with. (Notes will save you!) If you ever need an explanation, she is good at it! Just make sure you always ask a question if needed to keep up! |

This was a great class. The lectures were dynamic and very applicable to the real world. In class we did a business case, analyzed a lot of current news events, lots of debates over trade policy. I genuinely feel like I understand the news and politics so much better after taking the class. There are a lot of assigned readings but you don't have to do all of them to get an A if you go to class regularly. |

Professor Chuang is balanced between being demanding and also caring for her students. This class was definitely difficult at times, but it's also the class that has made me grow the most while at UMD. She is extremely passionate about what she teaches, so she will push you, but also always made time to answer all questions and understand everyone's opinion during class. She also gave the class extensions when she saw that we were overwhelmed during midterms, and let us do the exams open-note outside of class. As long as you put in effort, she will do her best to help you succeed. |

Great professor and very knowledgeable regarding content and how to connect them to current headlines. Lots of readings, though much isn't required but very helpful in gaining clear insights regarding the content. She is also very open to questions and always answers them with clarity. Overall an amazing professor, unlike some of the comments that say otherwise. Her grading policy is completely fair and is quite clear in what is lacking. |

Very chill class and very knowledgeable professor. This class is pretty easy as long as you look at the powerpoints and briefly at the readings. Easy to get a good grade. Professor rarely takes attendance and lets you know when she is going to by email. Not too many readings but like said before you don't really need to read them to get a good grade in this class. |
