Seminar in American Studies; Racial Ecologies

This graduate seminar will center emerging scholarship at the intersection of critical race studies, feminist science studies, and the environmental humanities. Focusing on topics including climate change, resource extraction, the oil economy, species conservation, and pandemic ecologies, we will highlight how environmental justice struggles animate key political, cultural, and social concerns as they highlight efforts to construct alternatives to current modes of racial capitalism.
