Andrea Lopez ANTH412 Expecting an A respectmyopinions 12/24/2024	Dr Lopez is easily the kindest and most understanding professor I've ever had at UMD, so I can't give her anything less than 5 stars. The reviews raving about how passionate, intelligent, and engaging she is are not exaggerations. However, I would warn against taking ANTH412 unless you're VERY invested in social issues. The class is mostly extremely long readings and in class discussions, so if reading 20 pages papers about anthropological concepts and then discussing them for an hour and 15 minutes sounds appealing to you then take this class. If not, you might want to take a different elective (saying this as a STEM major).
Andrea Lopez ANTH412 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/10/2021	Dr. Lopez is hands-down the best professor I have ever had. As someone who has taken mostly STEM courses, it is so refreshing to have a professor that is genuinely passionate about what they teach. She also genuinely cares about all of her students and creates the most welcoming and engaging classroom environment. It is truly a privilege to be in one of her classes, and if you have the chance to be take it!
