Lecture slides and canvas are organized, quizzes are medium length but open note and information can be found in the slides + basic information he mentions in class. There are 10 sketches due at the end of the semester and a final cumulative essay due at the end. 226 does not have essay progress check like 225 so stay on top of it but it is feasible either way.

Easy class, lectures are kinda boring though and REALLYYYY long. Professor himself was super nice though very helpful. Exam are easy and the only assignments are reflection posts and sketching exercises. Besides exams and assignments its just the final paper - no actual final exam. Really not that bad of a class just not very entertaining.

This class was an interesting look at the history of architecture from 1450 to today. Professor Burke did a good job with covering a lot of information in such a short time. He was accommodating and often asked for feedback from students. The class alternated between live lectures and sketching classes, which provided a nice time to reflect on the information and also relax a bit. The tests were not hard, especially if you studied and had access to materials since they were open-note. The only thing that I didn't like was that there were only 4 grades for the whole semester, and the grading scale itself was very high. The lack of grades made it very stressful because even getting a B on one assignment could drop you drastically, especially with the skewed grading scale. However, if you do the work and put effort in, you will do well!

One of the least effective professors I have ever encountered. Every single lecture is just him standing in front of slides talking in a monotonous stream of conscience. There is absolutely no organization to his instruction. That being said, he throws an incredible amount of information at you and expects you to regurgitate everything back for the exam. Every exam is actually two separate exams, slide identifications and essays. But all of this is irrelevant because, unfortunately, he is the only professor teaching this course anyway.
