Maryl Gensheimer ARTH488U Expecting an A Anonymous 05/02/2026	Dr. Gensheimer is a ridiculously good professor, and this course has been my favorite thus far. Here is why: - My class went from 12:30 - 3:00, and it felt like 30 minutes every time. I wish it lasted longer!! - She knows everything about EVERYTHING. I almost believe she is just a time traveller who lived in ancient Rome with the scholars and decided to come to UMD for shits and gigs. Even though she is one of the most knowledgeable people I've ever met, she validated me and always seemed interested in what I had to say. Dr. G is just a humble and kind soul. - Her lectures are stupidly informative without her talking at you - she makes academic concepts super digestible and INTERESTING. She pulls up a fully prepared typed speech, along with a professional slide deck. She is super passionate about her material, and it WILL rub off on you! You can tell she works really hard to present something polished. - She's super invested in your work and makes herself available through office hours (which I encourage you to attend). She is also invested in you as a person. - She's just one of those people you look up to. I can't explain it. She gave me this really fantastic feedback on my presentation one time, and I never felt so proud of myself.
