idk what the whole email ordeal was with the last review, but I've never had that issue with Julia. I did email her once saying that I needed to leave studio an 30-an hour early because of a meeting I had and she was going to consider it as an absence/early dismissal but I told her it would only be for that week, so I'm assuming she just let it be. The class is very chill, she usually goes around the class in the beginning and end asking how we are, how we feel about the current assignment, our ideas for the assignment and is giving good constructive criticism. She does critiques as well which contributes to your participation grade at the end of the semester, so make sure you talk. She does call on people randomly but everyone gets called. You get more points if you talk more even before/after she calls on you.

ARTT210 is kind of an exhausting class, as it is 5 hours of drawing a week, which can get boring for someone who does not consider it one of their favorite mediums. Matthew himself, however, is a nice professor. He's pretty laid back and doesn't really have much to say. You just walk in and draw, basically. He does walk around and give feedback as you are drawing. The feedback can be annoying, obviously, but he knows what he's talking about and the feedback is objectively helpful. Only reason that I won't give that 5th star is because he seems a little strict on the grading. I saw some extraordinary pieces from other students in class but noticed that the highest grade on the first portfolio was 94%. I put in the work and met all of the requirements of first portfolio and received an 86.5%. I'm not saying my drawings were masterpieces by any means, but I definitely put a lot of effort into them and because there aren't many assignments in the class, that B carries a lot of weight.

I hate this professor. This is like the first time I've ever seen a professor asking students to write emails in a specific way. I have to follow her email rules to write her an email so she doesn't feel "upset". Also, she doesn't give good feedback and just expects us to take her grade. I thought she'd be okay considering the reviews but nope, skip her if you can.

amazing professor and great class honestly. genuinely takes the time for suggestions on how to improve your work. even with the in-class critiques, it feels more helpful. definitely allowed me to improve my art without having to fit into a specific mold. grading is super fair and it feels like more than anything she wants you to succeed.

This course has many talented students so you might feel intimidated at first. Professor Pantelis is not the easiest grader, but she is always willing to help you with your projects. If you take her course, I would suggest asking for help and putting a lot of effort into your work. I also would advise staying after class to work on projects because you will definitely need more time to complete the projects than you are given.

Professor Conover was very nice and I liked her teaching style. Throughout the class, she would walk around and give feedback. I highly recommend taking her, she is very relaxed and will understand if you have to miss class for personal reasons.

Great professor and an easygoing class. She is always willing to help or further explain things, the critics don't feel intense or anything. If you want a laidback class with a professor that always willing to help you out, take this class. The quizzes are simple and the grading feels fair, Professor Kwon only wants the best for her students it feels like.

Great professor! Very chill and friendly. Matt is always looking to give constructive feedback and will laugh at your jokes. Going to his class always made my day. You will get a good grade if you ask for help and take his advice. Would 100% recommend this class.
