Professor JG is a really nice and supportive art teacher. As someone who had never done screen printing before this class, the way she structured the first half of the semester to teach you the basics and build up a technical portfolio was really helpful and effective! She's also super friendly and easy to approach if you have extra questions. If you show up consistently to class and plan out your projects in advance so you're not wasting studio time, there honestly isn't that much work you have to do outside of class, and its a pretty chill atmosphere. For the final project she has the class do an exchange portfolio, so you get to take home copies of your classmates' prints, which was really fun. She also schedules some fun class trips - we got to tour the Driskell Center's gallery and archives on campus, and we got to visit Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, which is just down Baltimore Avenue and has a really cool print studio. |

Professor Strom is highly knowledgeable, gives meaningful feedback, and is a very cool guy! I enjoyed his class so much because there is absolutely no limit to what you can create. I surprised myself with my own artworks. His insight and guidance has helped me create some of my best works. Beware of the extra time you have to spend for this class. Screen-printing is hard work but it payed off well, in my opinion. The TAs host monitor hours outside of the class timings to help students catch up and finish their projects. I ended up working 15 hours on one project. Make sure you clean up after yourselves and be considerate because there are other students also using the studio and equipment. Overall, I highly recommend taking his class because I made some great memories! |
