ARTT448E Expecting an A- Anonymous 06/03/2025 |
JG is a nice professor, no doubt talented. However, this class produced little artwork and provided mostly student feedback. This course suffered from poor planning, structure, and teaching. Despite a tough grading, the curriculum lacked coherence, with excessive time spent on non-studio activities such as out of studio workshops, “filmless” movie making, and risograph instruction (which students can't operate on their own). Mandatory off-site workshops, many at the end of the semester, took away from crucial studio time for final projects. Limited workspace and a lack of proactive communication about assignment parameters and printmaking resources further hindered the studio environment. Nobody ever knew what was due exactly or what we were supposed to be working on, on any given day. Expect to devote your time outside of class working. When you receive your grades for your artwork, points taken off have no explanation or feedback. Never took such a stressful art course in my life. |
