Giuliano Scarcelli BIOE447 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 02/06/2025	This class was an absolute blast and you HAVE to take it. Skip the spring/fall version (lectures only, yawn) and hop a bus to Baltimore at the crack of dawn in the ice and snow over your winter break. Is it early? Bro, the sun isn't even up yet. Is it cold? Sometimes you'll mistake Baltimore for Buffalo. But it's worth it. You get to tour labs and hospitals and talk to doctors and handle medical equipment and, in our case, do MOCK BRAIN SURGERY ON A CADAVER. This class is the best kept secret of the BioE department but the cat's out of the bag because I am recommending it to every person I see. If you so much as make eye contact with me in Clark Hall, I WILL corner you and start yapping about it. Take it!! Also, why are Giuliano’s reviews are so trash on here? 3 stars?! The guy is an absolute gem. He's so approachable and kind. Nicest prof at UMD by far!

Catherine Kuo BIOE447 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/16/2022	Terrible terrible professor. She gives no criteria for grading and is really passive aggressive. Class was basically all orthopedic guest lecturers. She only teaches what relates to her research. She's also really rude to guest lecturers and students. Class itself is has the potential to be interesting and is a pretty light workload. Also, DO NOT JOIN HER LAB. she is known in the department for being absolutely terrible to her students. She lost 2 phD students, three undergrads, and two postdocs in one year. Has multiple complaints with human resources about her behavior. 0/10 do not recommend. she needs to be fired.
