This was my favorite class of the semester. It's difficult and definitely requires a good amount of review outside of class but Prof Kuo is a great lecturer and I learned a lot in this class. She makes her lectures a discussion style where you talk through the mechanics or process of whatever you are learning and it is way more helpful than if a prof just talked at you. Her homework assignments are actually useful for the exams. She is also very nice and funny and makes her lectures enjoyable. She talks a lot about her own lab research which is pretty cool and has had some of her grad students in her lab come talk as well. Her grading is fair and I would definitely take another class with her. |

Professor Kuo is very nice. In lectures, she will sometimes have you draw (nothing fancy, just little doodles to strengthen your understanding) which is really helpful when learning concepts. I took AP Bio, so I was familiar with the basics, but in her class, I was able to learn a lot more and connect ideas with each other. If you take her, DEFINITELY attend lectures because you learn and understand a lot; I honestly felt like I didn't need to study/memorize too much before an exam because the way she taught helped me and the class understand and actually absorb the content well. Also, participate in class because she'll like you better :) We only had 3 midterms and no final, plus homework was just completion and everyone got 1 free pass on one homework. She offers extra credit on each midterm and has a few EC opportunities throughout the semester. The only downside is that she talks about herself and her research on tendons often and I would consider her a bit of a pick-me. |

She makes you draw pictures of everything so don't take her if you're not artistic. She askes a lot of questions in class and makes you do a lot of critical thinking, which is good for learning course material but I didn't enjoy. I lowkey started skipping classes because I found them boring, but when I skipped I did significantly worse. Her tests were pretty easy and that is 90% of the class grade to that is nice. You will be fine with any professor for this class tbh. |

Decent professor. Spends way too much time talking about her own research, but you still learn the bio concepts through how they apply to tendons. Sometimes takes a really long time working through a single concept, and it gets irritating, but you do end up understanding it even if you didn't need to review it that many times. Exams aren't too difficult, and homework is graded on completion. You don't have any idea what your grade is though because she doesn't put exams or extra credit into ELMS, so you're kind of just guessing. |

One of my favorite professors I've had thus far. Can be passive aggressive to students at times, but if you actually engage in the class and answer questions she will like you. Makes the class very engaging, and gets the material across well. |

Terrible terrible professor. She gives no criteria for grading and is really passive aggressive. Class was basically all orthopedic guest lecturers. She only teaches what relates to her research. She's also really rude to guest lecturers and students. Class itself is has the potential to be interesting and is a pretty light workload. Also, DO NOT JOIN HER LAB. she is known in the department for being absolutely terrible to her students. She lost 2 phD students, three undergrads, and two postdocs in one year. Has multiple complaints with human resources about her behavior. 0/10 do not recommend. she needs to be fired. |

not the most enjoyable professor, she gets the material across though. |
