Professor Schlake is a great guy and with lots of experience. He is fun to listen to and shares a lot of great information and insights. I appreciated his focus on entrepreneurship in the class. He got me interested in starting my own business and connected us with the Dingman Center. But his focus on entrepreneurship prevented us from learning other important topics. He also does a poor job creating fair exams and never grades anything until the end of the semester. He’ll enter your final grade in Testudo, but won’t update the canvas grades for a long time. Professor Schlake is a great person and leader, but needs to improve as a professor. |

This teacher is really naive about the scholars program, he is way too excited about all the trips when they are really unnecessary and not fun. He is nice to students but he is a terrible teacher. He just talks the whole class and you don't learn anything. He does not grade until the end of the semester. He also will never adjust your grade for you or help you out. He is not a helpful or an understanding teacher. The exams are hard for no reason. Everyone says that scholar classes help boost your gpa but that is false it lowered my gpa. I would highly recommend you avoid this teacher, he is the worst. |

Really love him as a person, he is very caring and wants his students to engage in class. However, does not really grade anything until the end of the semester and exams are on actual content, not what he talks about in class so it was a little frustrating. Overall, take him for a class- he is my favorite professor so far. |

This class gives you a decent overview for all business majors. The class is about half content and half news stories which is nice because you get a chance to discuss stuff that's happening in the real world. Exams aren't bad if you set aside 2 days or so to study. Miller is pretty funny and it was one of my favorite classes I've taken so far. |

Miller hosted a welcoming cozy environment classroom that proved to be very interesting. If you can stand the battleship gray curtains and the seeping onion bagel smell then I recommend this class for you! Take his quizzes and tests seriously they will make or break your grade. Good luck on the extra credit! |

Greatest professor at UMD. This was the only class I ALWAYS looked forward to going to. If you took macro in high school you know a great deal of the material already. Otherwise all of the test questions come from the powerpoints he puts on elms. Study those. Some questions are tricky, but fair. Enjoy this class. |

Professor Miller is an awesome teacher. He is hilarious when doing current events but also teaches the material very well. Some tricky multiple choice questions but a quick review of your notes should be enough if you go to class. Favorite class this semester. |

Miller is one of the best professors I ever had. His lectures were downright outstanding. Every day he would start with going over current events for about 15 minutes, which was always entertaining. Also, there were various quiz questions throughout the lectures where if you answered correctly with your clicker, you would get .05% extra credit. There were 2 quizzes and 3 exams. They were not too hard, but they were pretty tricky. There are also various extra credit opportunities such as a museum scavenger hunt and a short paper. Also, there is a required simulation that runs throughout the semester where the top 3 teams get extra credit. |

He is an amazing professor He really cares a lot about his students and wants them to do well. He keeps students engaged in class, so you actually learn the material and like it. He presents news stories before the start of class, and they are very informative and funny. He really tries to tie what you are learning in class with current events occurring around the world. His powerpoints are really good (probably the best I have ever seen) and he puts them up on blackboard so you can study from them for quizzes and exams. There are also many trivia questions given during class which you answer with your clicker (for every question you answer correctly you get 0.05% extra credit). The quizzes and exams are all multiple choice an extremely easy (as long as you review notes from the book and his powerpoints). He does give opportunities for extra credit (you can raise you grade up to 2.5%) so take advantage of them. You also do a business simulation, which is pretty fun and allows you to apply the concepts you learned in class to a real world situation (and the top three winning teams get extra credit!) |

He splits the class into 1/2 A's and the other B's, which is complete bogus since he decides where the curve is going to be. Midterms are really easy, completely based on the book and also the practice exam. Textbook is easy to read/follow. Doesn't matter if you attend lecture or not. |

i didnt like hiom as a teacher, he talks really slow and monotone so his voice puts you to sleep. its pointless to go to class because the midterms are based solely on the books and not his lectures, he curves a lot so his grading is not hard |

Great guy, really nice and wants to give scholars kids good grades. videos in every class-60 minutes or some type of case study type news broadcast. hes laid back and buys pizza for cambridge before exams for a "study snack". an overall enjoyable class. |
