Not nearly as bad of a professor that these reviews make her out to be. The pros of this class are the following: You have little hw, You learn skills that employers will like (SQL and Tableau), Exams are online and open note, If you show up to class you will prob get at least a B+. Cons: Lectures can get boring and exam instructions can be confusing. Yah she as a person can be a little odd sometimes but she was never mean. She seemed like she truly wanted us to succeed, and she was trying her best to make that happen.

She's a good prof! I think she must've turned things around after the negative reviews. The class was easy and relevant, and while it's structured a bit messily (due dates/rubric for assignments unclear sometimes), it was completely manageable. You learn SQL and a bit of HTML/Tableau, which is nice for info sys students. There's also a big group project you work on for the 2nd half of the sem, but if you go to class it's fairly easy and actually really cool since it gives you a real-world experiences with SQL, HTML/CSS, and Tableau. I would recommend!

Her course is a bit unorganized. She doesn't post due dates in advance or follow a syllabus. Additionally, like others have said, she lacks a bit of emotional intelligence. She will question why people are not understanding the material, or call them out via email or in class. Outside of the classroom, she was very nice and seemed to care about the future ventures of her students. The course would have probably been easier if taught by another professor. I recommend taking the course with someone else if possible.

Worst professor I've had in my three years so far at UMD. Highly rude, condescending, and unprofessional. I was anxious to come to this class every day because she always called out people like they were stupid for not understanding a concept or making an error. Does the same thing on assignments. She wrote on one of my assignments something along the lines of, "Really, this is what you put for this answer? Obviously, this is incorrect." If you want to gain a passion for the field of information systems and you have the option, don't take any classes with Louiqa. It's a shame because she obviously is very knowledgeable but the way she presents herself completely overshadows the potential she has for being a wonderful leader and mentor in the classroom.
