Professor Jie is a very sweet and accommodating instructor who genuinely listens to her students. When our class mentioned that we enjoyed watching videos, she adjusted her lectures to include more of them. She also brings in many real-world examples, which makes the material clearer and more engaging. One of the highlights of the course was the negotiation lecture. It was interactive and fun—you get to go against another group, and it definitely made the class feel lively and memorable. Overall, Professor Jie creates an environment that’s easy and enjoyable to come to every day. The biggest challenge is the amount of group work. There are multiple projects, cases, and reports throughout the semester, and they make up a large portion of your grade. Choosing a solid group is important, because these assignments can be time-consuming, and the more detailed your responses, the better you’ll do. Attendance is mandatory for participation, which isn’t ideal but manageable. Classes are structured around daily lectures with slides, videos, and real-world problems. You’ll need to buy a coursepack for the cases and reports. There’s only one exam—the online final—which is 20% of your grade. Overall, BMGT453 is relatively easy conceptually but involves a fair amount of work due to the research and presentations. Still, it’s a class I genuinely enjoyed. Professor Jie’s kindness, flexibility, and engaging teaching style make the course feel welcoming and worthwhile. |

She's so sweet! The content was interesting, but her lectures were a little boring. It got to the point where everyone in the class was doing work instead of paying attention. Jie is very receptive to feedback and wants everyone to succeed in her class. She has a strong background in the retail industry, and I highly recommend asking her about it! |
