Prof Moten is very down-to-earth and passionate about the content she teaches. She is insanely educated and you can tell the course is something she genuinely loves... however, there are times when she is a little tooooooo passionate - we didn't discuss half of the books we read the way I would expect to, and very rarely did we finish the lecture before class was over. The class itself was very chill up until this point - there were only 4 mini vlogs and a few completion-based discussion boards. With that being said, it kind of feels like everything got pushed to the very last minute because we now have a 5-page paper, 10-minute documentary, and literature review all due within 2 weeks. Overall, the class is pretty easy to fit into a busy schedule with a cool professor

Solid professor. Stresses themes throughout the readings you do so you remember the key ideas even after taking the class. If you complete the readings on time and put effort into the 2 or 3 writing assignments throughout the semester you should get an A or high B.

This professor needs a reality check. He grades the essays far too harshly for what this class is. It is a GenEd, and he grades like it is an upper level english course. Both of my papers were well written, and would have gotten a 95 in ENGL101, but he gave me a 70 on one and a 80 on the other. This guy needs to get a grip. Take an easier gened
