Jade Olson COMM456 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/16/2025	Dr. Jade is a great professor and this course is super interesting and timely. Dr. Jade does a great job of being professional and knowledgeable while also being entertaining and relatable. If you have questions or need feedback she responds quickly and provides a lot of detailed feedback. The content is more complex than your average COMM class, but she does a great job explaining it in detail and answering any questions you have. This semester in COMM456 everyone had to present a report on a Supreme Court case, complete weekly reading reflections, an engagement exercise each class, and then a final "Understand Your Rights" group project. Overall I thought that the workload was fair and never overwhelming. You learn about First Amendment Law, interpretations of free speech, and restrictions on free speech. It's really crazy how many things can be interpreted as "speech." This was definitely my favorite class of the semester and I would totally recommend it with Dr. Jade. You'll get out of it what you put in.
