Seminar in Mediated Communication; Technology and Digital Culture

This seminar will explore themes related to the transition from a mass media ecology to a networked media ecology, with special attention to the role of technological change. Readings will span early 20th century theories of mass communication to contemporary theories of digitally networked communication. The course will be of special interest to students interested in the history of media technology, digital culture, and emerging technologies.
