Fardina Alam DATA120 Anonymous 05/26/2025	the projects took a lot of time tbh for a 1 credit class but they were fun and really helped me learn Python. I got good grades on all the projects so I'm sure they weren't tooooo strict with grading. pretty easy
Fardina Alam DATA120 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/24/2025	A lot of content for 1 credit course, however if you actually take the time and try to learn it, it can be pretty fun. However, some homework's were long, quizzes were initially restricted to a lockdown browser which if you accidentally left the tab twice, it would auto submit. This got changed after quiz 3 thankfully. Also, wished it was a self-pace 1-credit course kinda like DATA110.
Fardina Alam DATA120 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/14/2025	Please note that she made this class much more intesive than your typical 1-credit e.g. math206, data110. You can't do all the assignments in one weekend; it's literally impossible because she releases quizzes and projects one-at-a-time. For the 6 weeks that it ran, it felt like another 3-credit class had suddenly been added to my schedule. 3 slidedecks, 1 quiz, and 1 homework set every week. I can see it being very overwhelming if you signed up for this without that much programming experience like I had. Still, overall, the class was pretty easy and very informative. Quizzes were surprisingly hard until she got rid of the lockdown browser requirement. Projects were sort of annoying, occasionally fun. The last project (worth twice as much as the previous ones) was an extremely easy paint-by-numbers juptyer notebook, so I guess this indicates she realized the course was a little stressful for students and adjusted. Might indicate how this class will be run in the future.

Fardina Alam DATA120 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/10/2025	I took CMSC320 before, and honestly, I wish I had this course first. A lot of us struggled in 320 at first because we didn’t know Python, and that course just expects you to know it. This class really helps fill that gap. It’s a bit fast since it’s only 1 credit over 6 weeks, but Fardina did a great job putting helpful stuff together. If it were a 3-credit class, I think we’d all feel less rushed and get even more out of it. TAs are helpful!

Honestly, it's 6 weeks, and learning a new coding language (Python) isn't that bad, but when so much work is thrown at you in such a short period, you hardly learn anything. The quizzes were locked down using LockDown Browser, a software that is known to be invasive. I used Linux, so I had no way to do the quizzes other than using the school computer, which was an inconvenience. Overall, there shouldn't be this much work for a 1 credit course. '_'
