Professor Barbee is an astounding lecturer! He is clearly passionate about the course material, and his knowledge runs deep. He made every class interesting - even when the material itself was dull. Not many professors are so enthusiastic about talking to students about course concepts, and Professor Barbee is one of them. I've never had a professor that I've enjoyed so much and I would kill to take his class again. ENAE 404 is definitely my most favorite course I have taken here at UMD, and it is all thanks to Professor Barbee.

Barbee is one of the best instructors I've had at this university. He relates complicated concepts to simple analogies with comprehensive explanations and it is obvious how much he loves to teach. He's always willing to spend extra time to answer questions. I greatly appreciated when he would begin a lecture with some space news then relate the lecture back to real world missions (Such as JWST or DART). His exams are fair, homeworks are fair with sometimes challenging MATLAB required. Overall this was easily my favorite class in the aerospace curriculum.

Brent is a solid lecturer, but does tend to get into the weeds of some derivations at times. He is always enthusiastic about the lectures and you can tell he really enjoys what he is talking about. His exams tend to have one or two curveballs, but are quite fair in relation to the content. Homework can range from quick items to full days of work, but Brent is always welcome to answering emails in a timely manner.

Dr. Hartzell is an extremely organized, fluid, and talented teacher. Her grading is pretty strict but there is a slight chance of a curve in this course which should make up for it. Everything she asks of you will challenge you, but it is pretty reasonable. She is definitely one of the better professors in AERO
