This class was one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken. The only way to survive is to utilize ALL of the office hours. Exams are take at home, 12 hour, open-note. The problems are hard. There is a lot of deriving equations and using a hybridized form of linear algebra and calculus. Austin's class is not based on ENES220. All homework and exams have two types of problems. Half of them are usually based on the lecture material, but the other half is not taught... you have to figure it out yourself.

real nice guy, tests were very fair and homework wasn't too hard except for the fact it took a long time. as for lecturing, he would literally cut and paste things from the book and put them into a powerpoint and read off of it. because of that, the class got pretty boring after a while. still, he's one of the better structural professors.

Decent teacher. He usually has some kind of trick to do problems that wont be in the book so its important to go to class. He also gives class problems that are basically open note quizes but another reason not to miss class. Exams are hard but he will give you a practice exam the day before.
