Topics in Electrical Engineering; Philosophy of Engineering

This course covers the philosophical aspects of the Engineering Discipline. It explores the relations between Engineering, Science, Practice, and their fundamental aspects. The concepts of Design, Intuition, Uncertainty, Economics, Analysis, Quality, Education, etc., as they relate to Engineering, will be developed and illustrated through examples drawn from different technical areas of the Engineering Profession. The focus of the course will be to strengthen the profound understanding of the basis of Engineering and to complement the technical training offered by other courses of the curriculum.
