Advanced Topics in Electrophysics; Magnetism and Spintronics

Prerequisites: Completion of ENEE313 with a "C-" or better; or students who have taken courses with comparable content may contact the department. This course covers the fundamental physics of magnetism, magnetic materials, and spintronic devices. It aims at providing an understanding of fundamental principles, on different length scales, that underlie a variety of magnetic materials and devices. State-of-the-art spintronic devices in industry and novel concepts of spintronics in laboratories will be discussed.
