Dean Graham is amazing!!!!!!!! This class however was not what it was advertised as. If you are looking for information on what YOU could be doing in each engineering field, DON'T take this class. This class is basically on campus researcher professors who come and present on what THEY do and only on what they do. They talk about their own very specific work and research at levels that it make it hard to understand. Dean Graham was amazing at dumbing it down for us, but it was still hard to keep focus and stay interested especially when they were presenting on a field that I had no interest in. There were a few essays we had to write about different problems, solutions, and innovations within the different fields that weren't too hard. The formatting was a little confusing at first but they are graded pretty leniently, they just take up a bit of time. Attendance isn't necessary and I was able to do well on the essays without attending the lectures by doing simple googling. Summary: If you are looking for help in choosing an engineering field to go into, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. Instead take the UNIV100 class that says it's specifically for engineers because they bring in people whose job it is to tell students about the field as a whole and what YOU could do in each field.

If you're undecided engineering, don't waste your time with this class. Instead, just declare whatever major you're most interested in and try out some of the classes so that you can actually get a feel for what that type of engineering is. As others have said, the class is just a bunch of different mandatory lectures with a 15 page paper (now on the NAE Grand Challenges in Engineering), it's an easy A as long as you put in the work, and Dean Pines seems like a great guy. This class had potential conceptually, but it honestly doesn't help with any decision making

This class is an easy A, but it's kind of a waste of time. The advisors suggested I take it because I was undecided engineering, but it didn't help me choose a major at all. It was just a minor nuisance to show up for an hour once a week to the lecture to here a relatively boring presentation from a different member of the various engineering disciplines. Darryll Pines seems like a really great guy, but he's not very involved with the class. As head of the engineering school, I think he had more important things to do. Overall, good guy, but the class isn't really worth taking.

The course is very boring and you don't do much. The course is not very demanding but you do have a lot of work to do (green paper) Some of the speakers are engaging and speak to topics that you are interested. Otherwise it's a very chill class but I wouldn't recommend it really, waste of time

ENES181 is an easy class. You basically just show up and listen to a bunch of speakers from different departments talking about their program. A good choice for any undecided engineering majors. There are a total of 5 assignments; 1 of which is a "green paper" that has to be 10-15 pages long. That is the only real work you have to put into this 1 credit class.

Very easy class, hard to get a B. Also, Pines is a great guy.
