Strange class, lectures and assignments were pretty interesting but grading was really weird. No clear rubric and asking for help from the TA or her left you more confused than when you started and feedback was rarely given without you directly asking for it. It definitely felt like grading was based on vibes, but strangely became way more lienient the second half of the smester. Also, a lot of the work is group projects with the same group all year which can extremely be frustrating if you have a bad group. On the plus side she lets out class early almost every day and is a very nice person and fun to talk to. |

This class is pretty boring and all the assignments feel like busy work. For a Gen ed this is a brutal amount of work, and the TA grades the assignments extremely harshly. As for Dr. Reedy though, he is the goat. Very chill guy and super understanding for any assignments or classes you may miss. When he grades the assignments, he tends to give an A as long as it is completed. This class could be fixed if there were fewer prelecture assignments and they got a better TA. |

Absurd grading practices. No concrete rubric. Based off of feels |

do not have any class with this professor. she can be rude and unreasonable. her grading is purely based on whether or not she likes you. |

Good professor. Interesting but not required lectures, and not much work outside 3 big maps (group projects) that can be mostly done in class. Lenient with grading and timings and super nice. |

Honestly this class was more work than I thought it was going to be. I dropped another I-Series class just to take this one and I do not think I made the right choice. There are just so many little tedious assignments that you have to do and it gets a bit frustrating. But I will say Roan is a nice professor and really does give good feedback. In the beginning, I feel as if she was pretty lenient with grades but as the class progressed she got a bit stricter. My advice is take her for 240 if you’re in the STEP minor, but do not take this class just for the I-Series credit like I did. |

Cool teacher that doesn't give too much work for a class that fulfills 2 gen ed requirements. Lectures are interesting but not required, and apart from weekly readings (that she encourages you only skim through), the only significant work in the class are 3 maps that can be done mostly in class. Would recommend |

Fair with gradings, gives ~30 min of homework a week. The big projects of the class, the maps, take a significant amount of time to complete (but can be done mostly in class), and they are the only stressful part of this course. Lectures were interesting but not required, and she really tried to make the class fun. |

Roan is nothing if not the ideal professor for this class. She is clearly knowledgeable about the subject, both confident and passionate to speak on the variety of topics that the course covers. While the class does assign a lot of work, it is by no means unmanageable. Pretty sure the class needs to assign this much work to be deserving of 3 credits and fulfilling both IS and SP geneds, certainly not the fault of Roan. She even encouraged us to skim the readings to get the main point rather than read their entirety. She always tries to engage with students, and has engaging lectures that are even fun at times. She is fair with grading, always gives feedback, and reads our journal entries in full to give personal responses to what we have to say. |

There is more work in this one class than in the majority of my other classes. It is ridiculous |
