ENES240 Expecting an A- Anonymous 12/08/2024 |
This class is pretty boring and all the assignments feel like busy work. For a Gen ed this is a brutal amount of work, and the TA grades the assignments extremely harshly. As for Dr. Reedy though, he is the goat. Very chill guy and super understanding for any assignments or classes you may miss. When he grades the assignments, he tends to give an A as long as it is completed. This class could be fixed if there were fewer prelecture assignments and they got a better TA. |

I am enjoying the class so far. Dr. Reedy has interesting takes on relevant events and technologies. He is pretty funny and engaging and just sometimes goes off on tangents and those times are the best. I agree with most of the reviews that the content is outdated/mindnumbing and the case studies about engineering decisions are from the 1970s. I don't think that is his fault since he did not develop the course. Overall, its not that bad. Just remember its an easy A. Show up and do the work. |

Reedy was fine, but if you're taking ENEE/ENES200, prepare for one of the most mindnumbing classes of your academic career. It's pretty easy to scrape by by doing the minimum required work and you'll still get an A, but the sheer volume of pointless assignments really started to get to me. In general, the class has a bad habit of treating you like a second grader. Reedy does his best to ease this by cancelling lectures and assignments fairly often, and overall is a chill guy, so I have no gripes with him. But the class is awful. |

In my opinion, ENEE200 is kind of a dumb class, but it is required for EE and CE majors. I don't really feel like I learned much, and a lot of the curriculum feels like its catered more towards elementary schoolers rather than college students. However, it was nice that we used a contract grading system, which meant that as long as you showed up to class and completed all the assignments, you'd get an A. That being said, Dr. Reedy is a good professor for this class. He made the lectures as interesting as they realistically could be and is overall a pretty chill guy. Just be prepared that while this class isn't hard, you'll still have a decent amount of work. TLDR: The class is kinda dumb but if you are taking it, take it with Reedy |

He's a really chill guy. We did contract grading which basically means we graded ourselves. If you show up and do the work then you will get an A. It was basically a hybrid class because half the lectures were asynchronous. However, those lectures were a lot of writing compared to the in person classes. There were no exams, just a final paper. It's not a hard class and some of the cases are actually pretty interesting. |

This class is a lot of busy work but Reedy makes the class bearable. I personally enjoyed this class since it gave me a bit of a break from my more harder ECE classes. That being said, it can be annoying and stupid at times and the discussions on Friday's enforce discussion. Participation is the biggest factor into your grade. But as long as you do the work and show up, you get the grade! Reedy is very flexible and willing to work with you. He is chill and tries to make the class more fun. If you have the opportunity take Reedy whether it be for ENES or ENEE 200. |

Great professor. Had him for 240 and 440. He makes the necessary adjustments to the curriculum, makes class engaging, and encourage students to think. |

Reedy is a chill dude, would sometimes let us out of class early and cancel assignments that we otherwise would have had to do. Made a good deal of classes asynchronous too, generally was very understanding with grading and giving assignments and was always nice in class. A lot of the assignments, concepts, and activities in class are a bit weird or strange and don't really relate to engineering ethics, but those are all Nicole Mogul's fault (not Reedy's) as this course is more or less her brainchild. Reedy is for sure a much better option to take ENEE200 than Mogul, no questions about it. |

Reedy is goated. The labs can be hit or miss but if your TA is chill then you’re good. Lectures are pretty interesting and the professor is an engaging lecturer and very understanding on late assignments. You’re graded on a different system (grading contract) which I think is dumb as it is mostly pass/fail. |

Everything is basically just for completion, not much thinking required to get an A. Just show up and do the work. Also be prepared to be treated like a kindergartener in some of the discussion prompts, but at least Reedy seems pretty good compared to what I've heard about Mogul. |

Class if fine, it's moderately interesting but nothing too crazy. Lectures are usually pretty fun, and the professor is an engaging person. HOWEVER, where this class really loses all of its points is the amount of work they assign - especially around finals. There is just paper after paper after paper..... right when finals are happening. |

Do the work you'll get an A+. Prof Reedy is super nice and a good guy. Class is interesting. There are a good amount of assignments which are a little annoying but not a bad class to take. |

this class is very mid. theres no thinking, its not hard, its just a bunch of busy work. The problem is it a lot of busy work sometimes. take it over the winter if you can you will be very happy not taking it over a semester. The final project being a really long essay due right before actual finals was annoying. also the final exam being an essay which honestly wasnt needed to even be given in the middle of finals didnt help. overall an easy A if you have a good utf and keep up w all the busy work. |

The class doesn't really require that much thinking, kind of interesting, I guess. Lot of busy work in the class and the final project is a long paper. Reedy is great though, the grading contract system is super stupid in my opinion. There are better gen eds to take for sure unless this is a requirement. |

ENEE200 Expecting a B Anonymous 12/19/2022 |
Professor Reedy is a great professor, but ENEE200 is a terrible class. It’s organized in a way that prioritizes time management over quality work (grading contracts). It’s the busiest gened I’ve taken, so I can’t emphasize enough: Don’t take this class if it is not a requirement. There’s better geneds out there. |

Easy. No Exams, or quizzes. Just some small written assignment. You can skim the readings. This class is basically pass fail, you do work you get an A+ |

He makes ENEE200 class easy as hell. Just do the assignment on time and you are good. Hopefully, your ta is chill. You have readings but from my experience, you can skim the readings, or not read at all. |
