The views about Professor Wolfe are more than accurate - she is amazing! I took her Fall 2024 and she is so down to earth and understanding. She keeps her lectures as entertaining as you can for the subject, and tlels a lot of her own stories too. You really feel like you know her by the end of the semester, and if you're active in class, she'll know you too. She's also really understanding if you've been consistently working hard. She was flexible with on a hard deadline that I wasn't going to meet and really understands that life happens. If you work hard in this class, you'll get a positive result and a great person to connect with.

As long as you do the work you'll get an A. Grading is clear and lots of feedback is given on writing. Definitely take this class with Holden. She cares so much for her students and wants you to succeed. She is a great person! She is super understanding and willing to give extensions. She will always go out of her way to help her students. I highly recommend her!

This class is an easy A as long as you go to class and put effort into the assignments which aren't hard. The class is very small, meaning that you have to pay attention because she will call on you to engage everyone. She really cares about getting to know her students and making sure they succeed, the only thing is the pace of the class moves really slow up until the final projects where things pick up. I took this class as a gen-ed, but found it to be really useful in helping me write, collaborate with others, and exploring career paths through the writing world.

One of the best professors I've had. Not only is she a good teacher in the classroom, but she seems like a genuinely nice person who cares about her students as actual people. I enjoyed going to class and engaging in discussions, which I usually never do if I can avoid it. Definitely take her class.

Really nice and answers emails quickly but theres way too much busywork. Overall, I enjoyed her teaching and learned a lot. If you do the work you'll get a B+ or A-. She gives everybody between an 87 to 93 on major assignments (I asked a ton of people in class). Even if the essay receives no or little negative feedback, you'll still get a 93. Explained assignments clearly and showed a lot of attention to every student. Take her if you don't mind the A-.

She is a very nice woman, but her class is a mess, and often a waste of time. However, the assignments we did were extremely valuable to me, and she does know what she's talking about if you can get past her quirks. You do two projects, a team project where you interview a writer, and an individual project where you can do this again, or research a specific genre of writing. It was all extremely helpful for those curious about how to get into the professional writing field. She also brought in great people to interview in class, like a grant writer and an internal communications guy. Speaking with these people is great. The class is great, and easy. Just know, that you will be annoyed with the professor at times. But some people were too harsh on her. Well, I will say, don't get on her bad side... be engaged in class or she will call you out in class A LOT. I get why these people hate her. But to me she was great.

Liz is honestly a really solid teacher. I'd give her 5 stars but her class was just annoyingly boring and slow at times. The workload for this class was very easily manageable, but just make sure you pay attention to deadlines as you have to plan ahead for some things. The actual assignments are relatively open-ended, and Liz is really good at working with you if you need direction or help. A lot of this class in class is discussion-based, so be prepared to talk and speak up. That being said, my experience was it doesn't really matter what you say as long as you say something so don't stress it's not that deep. The only other thing was that attendance is important. I missed a few classes which set me back on deadlines and most notably participation assignments in class. Legit just show up, engage a bit here and there, do your work on time, and you're golden. The course had one big group assignment, one big independent assignment, a few in-class participation assignments, like a minor essay or two, and just a few discussions. Also, the textbook is useless I didn't buy it and never needed it.

I really enjoyed the class because the class focused on working in team, finding professional writer for interview. There are very few assignments outside of the class. The course follow labor based grading, so turning assignment will ensure the points. Indeed, it is an easy general education class.

This class turned out to be professional writing in the workplace and not an introduction to professional writing. I was told the class is an easy A and yes it is, most of the grades are based on completion and the course load is really small there are only a few larger assignments where you have to interview a writer for an individual project and group project and you have to write papers about it but it is pretty easy. The professor is just trying to get people to work well in groups as if they were in the workplace. The professor overall is very unorganized and confusing at some points, assignment due dates usually get pushed because she didn't do something she was supposed to do. Attendance is not mandatory but some days there will be in-class graded assignments and if you aren't there it is sometimes difficult to make it up without an excused absence. The class is pointless but I took it as a gen-ed and didn't really have to worry about this course and my grade in it.

She is a very nice person and cares about her students. Her class was an hour and 15 minutes and for the most part, she just chatted about random stuff which was annoying. I'd rather be talking about the class but who am I to complain. The class is an easy A and she is willing to work with students. You don't need the team writing book and I found a pdf for the technical writing textbook. You only need to read the textbook when she assigns something related to it. It's common sense stuff though. Overall, if you need an easy DSSP I would talk this class.
