Michael Israel ENGL383 Expecting an A- Anonymous 12/14/2024	Incredibly hard to follow and easily the worst professor I've ever seen. Do not take any class by this professor, you are wasting your time and money. If you want a free A go for it because he does not really care about the assignments
Linda Coleman ENGL383 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/18/2023	Professor Coleman is a nice professor, allows redos for all assignments but the final so it's easy to get a good grade even if you didn't do well the first time. Always has time for questions etc. Values participation and attendance a lot so if you're not going to go to her class don't take it. Discussion boards are worth 40% of your grade but are easy to complete, the rest is split between 2 short essays and one final paper plus attendance and participation. Very knowledgable in her area of teaching.

We had to learn a lot of language/discourse specific terms and tools, but Prof. Coleman did not expect or require you to know them inside and out. As long as you make a good faith effort to understand them for discussions, she seemed satisfied. Class periods were a mix of discussions and lectures. Some days she would talk at us the whole time but there were many days where we watched/read material and analyzed it. The papers weren't bad. Topic prompts were broad. Honestly, I thought she was an easy grader, but I know many of my classmates disagreed. I was surprised to receive an A in this class. I probably gave it 6 out of 10 on the effort scale. I think Prof. Coleman is a good teacher with high but not unreasonable expectations.
