If you are interested in production management, take this class. If not, don't take it for an easy A. He is a good lecturer, understanding, and decently helpful during office hours. He has long slides usually around 30 slides, you don't really have time to copy everything down, I would reccoment just following and highlighting or writing down important things. He is very qualified and wants us to learn, just after the first few lecturers the content got overwhelming and confusing - the 75 minute lectures didn't help. We should have done more practice problems during class. But he is very lenient with your grade. The homeworks are pretty detailed, the TA was a very strict grader so make sure everything is correct because it is a large part of your grade. The in class quizzes were random but usually pretty easy, always got at least 100% on them, usually just one or two questions. The exams are basically only questions involving calculations so don't worry about all the other stuff like definitions/history - this is very important for your cheat sheet. The midterm was hard because we weren't given enough time and only given one practice exam even though there were so many things that could have been asked, the average was a 50%. But we were given 75% of our wrong answered points back if you reworked it which was clutch (my grade went from 30%ish to Cish). The final was way better as we were given a practice final, and extra probelms so the average was an 80%. The most important thing for the exams is your formula sheet - make sure you put the practice problems from the practice test on them as the exams are very similar if you do this you will do good. |

The rare example of a smart, engaging professor who is very good at teaching. Helu explains everything well and gives real world examples. Lecture quizzes are not very difficult and are a way to check your attendance in class (there are often chances for extra credit). I did not find this class particularly hard, but be advised that much of the midterm and some of the final rely on your knowledge of statistics; not anything difficult, but statistics nonetheless. The course content was very interesting to me. |

Dr. Herrmann is an okay teacher, but not bad. This course is straightforward and laid out clearly in the syllabus. You don't need to buy the textbook and do the readings as he says, but his pre-lecture videos are helpful to watch. During lectures, he has group activities that most students don't want to do, but they are beneficial to learn the content. The best way to be successful is to complete Module Evaluation (practice problems) before the exams as they are pretty similar in difficulty. This course is not challenging, but it can be annoying at times. Dr. Herrmann tries to learn the students names and know the students at least. |

Inconsiderate man. Does not respect his students. Is not honest. Is not an ethical person. Does not think in the best interests of his students. Does not value the time, money, effort, and sacrifice that people make to be in his class. |

I would strongly recommend this class. Professor Herrmann is an excellent teacher, who knows the material well. This class had 4 assignments, and a final all weighted equally. Video lectures are posted online, so as the semester went on, attendance dropped but you could catch up from the videos. This is a pretty easy class with a high pass rate. Take it if you can. |
