Raymond H Tu FIRE171 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 07/22/2019	I entered this FIRE stream extremely excited to learn about ML but after the semester finished, I decided not to finish the program because this class was so bad. I was under the impression that this was an introductory course for both Python and machine learning, but the pace was unrealistic for that. I BS'd everything and didn't understand even the most basic of concepts for ML, yet somehow I got an A+. I was blessed to have a god-like programmer on my team who actually understood machine learning concepts but I hardly contributed (not out of laziness but literally because I was that incompetent.) Lecture is also pointless and lab is only useful for finishing other homework.
Raymond H Tu FIRE171 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/10/2019	The COML FIRE stream isn't intolerable, but was barely tolerable. Half of the time I didn't know what was going on and the other half was just BSing my way through team meetings. You learn a lot of the material through online courses, but going to lecture is pointless. Lab was just a place to do homework. I recommend choosing another stream (Autonomous Unmanned Systems Stream). Dr. Tu is barely involved in the entire process, simply steering our project directions and being involved with the weekly team meetings.
