Sahra Ibrahimi
FMSC302 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 10/13/2024 |
Professor Ibrahimi was exceptional! She explained the course material in a clear and digestible way, even though research methods is difficult. I learned so much from her class. I had not been exposed to research before, but she challenged and inspired me. My group and I also think she is kind and approachable, and she made learning fun. Her two graduate TAs were very slow at grading, so sometimes I had to go to Professor Ibrahimi for her to reach out to the TAs about my grade. Other times, she would grade it herself to speed things up. I highly recommend her. |

Sahra is really kind and more than willing to help students out. She's quite approachable and I always got the impression that she really wanted to help us do our best (she constantly was checking in with us, went out of her way to give us extra review materials/sessions, etc.). FMSC302 with her wasn't always interesting/engaging, but it was made better with the knowledge that the instructor was rooting for us, not against us. My only gripe was with the grading and with the way questions on homework assignments/exams were worded. Though I understand Sahra and the TAs were understandably busy, assignments would be graded sometimes 3+ weeks after they were given. My TA in particular seemed to grade our assignments extremely late compared to the other TA, who was on top of things (from what I heard). Questions on assignments were always worded in an odd, tricky way, when they absolutely didn't need to be. They'd sometimes go directly against what we went over in review sessions, which didn't make sense at all. Overall, the class was worth it especially if you want to go into public health research, and Sahra was great, but make sure you're putting in effort at all times - don't slack off! |

THE BEST! I had a 9 am with her this semester and she did require attendance which was the only downfall. It's a lecture on Mondays and group-work (semester-long group project (yikes)) on Wednesday. If you show that you're trying, you're good. She is really caring and I think makes a great mentor. Exams are open note and she also offers random extra credit opportunities!! |

Dr. Fish is a great professor! Her teaching style is very straightforward and makes the course material interesting. Some of the course material can get confusing, but she's great at explaining in other ways and won't stop until you understand. Her tests are easy (if you study). |
