One of the best professors I have had on campus. He is very easy to communicate with, understanding, and genuinely cares about our absorption of the content. The course structure was easy to follow and adapt to, it didn't really seem overwhelming, even if the topics became somewhat complicated. Nevertheless, he was a very helpful professor and would almost always accept extensions as long as they were requested professionally. Overall, Dr. Feng is a complete subject matter expert, and a good person. I would highly recommend this course and this instructor to other students. |

This course is basically a repeat of stuff you've already learned if you're in GEOG/ENSP/ENST. Dr. Feng's lectures can get super boring but they are pretty simple. There were two essays that were pretty short, but the rest of the out of class assignments were quite easy. The midterm and quizzes seemed like they were mostly on memorizing facts from the lecture instead of understanding actual content. He did assign a group project like the day before thanksgiving break that was due the Monday we got back, which sucked, but generally he cares about what he's teaching and it seems like he wants to give you a good grade. |

Dr. Feng is very dry and boring, and the assignments in this course feel like busy work. Although there were occasionally interesting lectures, the majority are not as exciting as I would've hoped from the course title. The class is relatively easy but I personally wouldn't recommend it. However, Dr. Feng is fairly compassionate towards his students and allows for one "token" to be used during the semester. The token can be used for a missing discussion or turning in an assignment late, in which any penalty will be dropped. This is a fair rule and he is generally kind. |

Avoid GEOG431 if you can, it's really not the best class. Dr. Geores can't figure out how to use technology, so she won't grade anything that involves Blackboard until the end of the semester (which is basically everything but the midterm). Her powerpoints are embarrassingly bad, and most of the movies we watched in class put me to sleep. There's usually no point to her "lectures." However, she will help you if you show initiative. It's not a hard class, just kinda a waste of time/effort. |
