Economic Geology

Prerequisite: GEOL322; and (CHEM131 or CHEM135); and (CHEM132 or CHEM136). Restriction: Non-degree-seeking students require the permission of the instructor. Credit only granted for: GEOL489Q or GEOL463. Formerly: GEOL489Q.The geological setting, and mineralogy of ore bodies, as well as the chemical and physical factors affecting the source, transport and deposition of metallic ores, petroleum and natural gas will be covered. The economics of mineral resources will be discussed.
