This advanced undergraduate and graduate Greek seminar will read Plato's Republic 1 and Sophocles' Antigone as sources for "Fifth- century Anarchism." Seminar discussions will concern the original Greek texts and relevant scholarly literature. Primary readings are in ancient Greek.
