I really enjoyed Dr. Smead's lectures, although he can get off on tangents, it is always really interesting info or facts that I never knew. However, he lost some stars for me because although the information itself is very interesting, we got very behind in class, like weeks behind. We were doing discussion posts about Obama when we were still learning about Reagan. It was hard to get 100 on those when you haven't learned the material yet. Like I said, super interesting info, and really enjoyed his teaching style and him as a person, but being behind the syllabus wasn't a good experience. |

his lectures were engaging - hes very dry and sarcastic in an old man way and it made it more interesting. read the books and listen to the lectures and you should be fine even though it's time consuming. he was laid back regarding late work which was appreciated. |

Literally the greatest professor ever. He makes every class so engaging; it's just like hearing someone tell you a really interesting story, but that story is actually history! He really understands his students and makes an effort for everyone to be seen and have a chance to succeed. Take as many of his classes as possible!! |

There are only a couple of history professors that are bearable, and Prof. Keane is DEFINITELY one of them!! She is very nice, and really tries to make the class interesting! Study for the 2 exams, spend a little extra time on the 2 papers, raise your hand once in a while and you're golden. Love Prof. Keane!! |

This was a great class! Her lectures move fast and are supplemented by lots of cool audio-visual clips from the time period of speeches, music and occasionally documentaries. The readings were not too much, and lots of them are primary sources. It is not a hard class to do well in, but also really interesting at the same time. Professor Keane is engaging and really knows her stuff, take a class with her! |
