Selected Topics in History; Confucius' Many Lives in East Asia and Asian America

Explores the strong influences of Confucian cultural ideals in East Asia and among Asian Americans, from ancient China to the 21st century modern present, focusing on the ways diverse peoples imagined Confucius to meet the needs of their times. Topics include: ideas about leading a good and meaningful life, religion, philosophy, family, politics, and education, as well as globalimigrations of ideas, peoples, and cultural practices in the Pacific World.
