Prerequisite: AAST200, AAST201, AAST222, HIST200, HIST201, HIST221, or HIST222; or must have completed HIST156 or HIST157; or permission of ARHU-History department. Credit only granted for: AAST498L or HIST466. Seminar exploring historical problems relating to US immigration, race, and ethnicity since 1848, with emphasis on cultural impacts of migration on immigrants, their children, and U.S. society.
