Marwa Maziad ISRL349G Anonymous 12/20/2024	I came to this class looking to learn something more theory-based, but her teaching style (if you can even call it that) did not provide much opportunity for learning. Basically every single class is discussion, and more than half the time it's talking about current events/news rather than the readings or something related more directly to the intended theme of the class. The lack of structure and content in-class just made for an uninteresting and annoying experience, especially because its all online. I wish I had taken a different class where there was some type of lecture or professor-led discussion. There were also a couple of people who dominated the class discussion and it was slightly annoying because their takes weren't very good and there were times when she would just let them interrupt her - I'm here for her expertise, not theirs. Also, at this point in time (finals have been over for 3 days) not a single assignment has been graded, so I have no idea what grade I have. The biggest problem with this is that for any of the writing assignments we had no idea what her grading style was so we could adjust accordingly for the following essays, especially because every assignment is a paper. If you're looking to learn, I'd recommend taking another professor.
