During lecture, he will sometimes assume you know more than you do, so make sure to ask for clarification! He's very willing to answer questions and will try to make sure you understand why the answer is what it is. This semester, he experimented with having quizzes instead of exams, with the lowest score dropped. I thought these were mostly fair, but the time pressure was unfortunate if there was a proof that you didn't see the solution to immediately. We had low averages, but the cutoffs were adjusted pretty generously. Differential geometry is a hard subject, so expect to put in a lot of work with any professor. If you know what you're getting into, then Wentworth is solid.

Liu makes it abundantly clear that his main goal in teaching the class is for you to learn the content - and structures the class in a way which really reduces stress. The homeworks are either weekly or biweekly, but was willing to give extensions. The exams themselves were also very doable and he adjusted the final exam after the results of the first. The curve itself was also very lenient. Additionally, he put up notes online for each of the classes, alongside generally following the textbook very closely - which meant review or catching up was very easy and was a huge help.

Lecture was straight from the book and not very inspiring which was disappointing since his PhD thesis was in differential geometry.
