History of Public Health

Restriction: Must be in Public Health Science program; and must have earned a minimum of 45 credits. Credit only granted for: PHSC401 or SPHL401. Formerly: SPHL401. Emphasis is on the history of public health in the Western world from antiquity to the present. Also examines the influence of public health developments as they relate to the Western world as well as throughout diverse cultures and societies across the globe. Analysis focuses on the interaction among Western and non-Western cultures with respect to health issues, including science, policies, prevention and treatment.
