I really didn’t enjoy this class.. It wasn’t super difficult and sometimes the content was interesting, but professor Gunde makes you feel stupid when you ask questions and even makes remarks saying she is “cringing” when students answer questions wrong. She yells at students for raising our hands to ask our TA questions at times. Honestly our TA saved us for this class, but take the other profesor if possible..

Easily the most caring professor ive ever had. Conducted this lab in a perfect manner.

Good professor and conducts the lab well. Sometimes I think the grading was a bit harsh but for assignments that really mattered (big lab report, presentation, etc) it was fair.

I absolutely hated physics labs until I took 276 with Professor Clark. Sitting at a computer for 4 hours every week was difficult, but Professor Clark made it a lot more tolerable. I really felt like I was able to connect everything I learned from 272 to 276 since he would have a mini lecture at the beginning of every class. He seems like he really cares about his students and their wellbeing; he would ask us how we were doing and really seemed like he wanted to help us through assignments and labs. I thought I wanted to be a theorist until I took lab with Professor Clark, so I highly recommend taking 276 with him!

He is by far the worst professor I've had. He gets annoyed when you ask him questions. He did not provide enough relevant information or rubrics for major assignments and gave everyone pretty low grades. It's also kinda hard to understand him. It all comes down to your TA.

Without a doubt the best professor I have had at UMD. He is 3 standard deviations above the norm when it comes to how he conducts his class.

I took this course in spring 2023, and I wanted to check to make sure Dr Clark still has a five star rating since he is a truly amazing professor. He stays during the entire lab and gives very helpful advice and also actively pays attention to make sure everyone understands what is going on. He also gives helpful and clear explanations at the beginning of class on the topics in the lab. To top it all off he's a super nice and friendly guy and gave all students cups at the end of the course to celebrate passing the course. Undoubtedly Dr Clark has been the best professor I've had in college, I say this now as a second semester junior.

I took circuit lab with Professor Ouyang and I literally dreaded going to class each week. As someone going into this lab with not a ton of hands on knowledge or experience with circuits, he made me feel stupid for asking questions and I had no motivation to learn the material. He is very confusing with expectations as well. We have two formal lab reports and the first one he did not communicate what he wanted at all, most people I know got a 50-60 on a major assignment. If you knew what you were doing in this lab, great, but if you didn't, good luck because getting help is impossible. I will say he is pretty understanding with sickness/missing lab so that was a plus.

The BEST physics professor I have had so far. Dr. Clark really shows he cares about his students. He stayed the entire time during the labs, coming around to check in with each person. He is great at explaining things and makes sure to give timely feedback. He's also just a super friendly guy in general and gave the class PHYS276 souvenir cups with some chocolate after the final! Overall Dr. Clark is a goated professor and I would HIGHLY recommend taking any class he teaches, especially lab.

Dr. Clark is a legend. He stayed the full length of the 4 hour lab. He answered questions about the labs/circuits the whole time, and his answers were clear and helpful. He also was just a really nice professor, as he was fun to talk to and he made PHYS276 a genuinely great class to take this semester. If he's teaching any sort of lab in the future, I recommend Dr. Clark wholeheartedly.

As a course, PHYS276 was very easy. Just read and understand the pre-lab material before class and you'll have the easiest time. Dr. Hoffman, however, wasn't the most helpful professor. I found the TA to be much more useful. This class was easy, but I wouldn't take a more difficult course with her. You would be fine in the lower level labs though.

Dr. Hoffman has a clear lack of understanding about the information taught in the class. Her tests were very difficult, and not an accurate measure of the course.
