Dr. Dougherty is an amazing professor and I highly recommend her child psychopathology class. She is kind, very open to questions, and very understanding of life situations that might come up. There are short quizzes every week that are open note, and interesting in class assignments pertaining to each topic we cover. If you put in effort, you will definitely do well.

Overall- kind professor, easy class, came off as disorganized Grading- no exams! Weekly quizzes were 10 pts, weekly reading reflections 6pts, weekly "in class" activities 5pts. One semester paper 50pts. Pretty much one of everything (except the paper) got dropped. Grading was quick on everything. Assignments are very clear and she stuck to the syllabus. Structure- MW 1h15 lectures. M in person and W on zoom. It was a little odd having the hybrid but it seemed to work. After the first 2 weeks, lecture sessions seemed very disorganized, so I stopped going. I would occasionally get on the zoom lecture for a topic that seemed interesting, but the class went slow and took forever to get started. Also people asking questions seemed to eat into class time a lot. Felt like a much better use of my time to just do the work on my own outside of class. I think the class has the potential to be much better structured. Professor- Aside from the disorganized class structure she seems really awesome. Dr Dougherty's experience is a great match for the content of the class and she seems to really enjoy teaching about it. She also was very receptive to questions and provided thoughtful answers. She and the TAs were very responsive with grading and emails. I feel bad giving only 4 stars because she was so nice but due to course structure I can't really say it was a 5 star class. There's definitely potential to be 5 stars though, because Dr Dougherty is knowledgable and kind! I would recommend taking this course in the future because Dr Dougherty definitely seems like the type of person to read student feedback and implement changes. Additional- a good number of guest lectures which were a neat opportunity!

Loved this class it was my favorite class this semester. Dr. Chronis-Tuscano is extremely understanding as well as makes this class extremely engaging. Dr. Chronis-Tuscano also brings in many guest speakers as well as a career panel to help her students understand more about possible careers in the psychology field. Assignments and exams have always been fair and graded in a timely manner.

Professor Chronis-Tuscano is interesting. She clearly knows a lot about what she teaches and her lectures are often very informative, but she also seems disinterested and disengaged with class at times. The textbook for class can be expensive and the reading is often very dense, but given the content that is to be expected. Regarding actual class, I'm not sure all professors teaching this class will organize it this way, but she had 3 exams, the final being cumulative, and she would do it so that we had 50 minutes for 50 multiple choice questions, or 75 minutes for 75 questions, which was extremely stressful. She also does not post lectures unless you are absent, which was annoying because reviewing lectures is a good study tool. Regarding assignments, they are manageable and easy. Sometimes there are in-class assignments which are pretty straightforward, and we also have reading reflections that are straightforward as well. Overall, the class content was extremely interesting, and lectures were engaging. It just did not feel like she cared too much about students or really making any improvements or changes to the class throughout the semester to make things easier. Definitely take this class if this content is an area of interest for you, you will still enjoy getting to dig deeper into such information!
