Extremely kind, caring, and patient professor. Very knowledgable in R, especially with context to psychology/neuroscience. Always very willing to clarify, provide help, and answer questions especially because he understands that R may not be the easiest thing for everyone. Slides are helpful and clear, and always posted for the class to follow along. He stays after class to help students with assignments and answers emails at a very reasonable time outside of class/office hours. Grading is lenient and reasonable. Class itself is fairly challenging if behind and if you do not have a background in coding in general. Each class has a lab assignment that usually takes the entire rest of class, and sometimes even takes time after class. Class is structured as lecture then a lab assignment. Only issue is that he talks really fast sometimes.

Very hands-on class, with a few long lectures and mostly in-class assignments that you work on independently. Some assignments (especially near the end) are hard and the lecture doesn't prepare you well for them, but the answers are always revealed before you submit. If you haven't done any programming before or you took your statistics classes years ago, this may be a frustrating class at times, but you are given a ton of time to work through problems. Professor's nice, if a bit technical in his explanations. Overall, recommend.
