Bro... the reviews below hit the nail on the head. I had heard these bad things before taking her class but thought there was no way they could be true. Unfortunately, I was wrong. She is incredibly disorganized and irresponsible. Class time was spent discussing whatever political happenings, coronavirus updates, or social justice topics she was interested in for the day. She will find literally any way to waste time and not cover the material. She tries to brainwash you with her views and has an attitude for literally everything. If she finds out you don't agree, you'll be on her bad side and she's pretty overt about it. Now in terms of the assignments, quizzes, and essays: she is EXTREMELY picky and demands perfection. Your wording must be exactly right to earn points. Like someone else said below, the first grade we received was on our introduction posts on the 9th week of class. One of my classmates had to remind HER of the due date because she kept pushing off reviewing our drafts until the weekend before – absolutely irresponsible and hypocritical for someone who doesn't take late work. She slacks so hard, yet expects you to spend hours a week doing her readings and assignments. I emailed her multiple times throughout the semester and she either didn't reply or brushed off my email by replying but not answering the question. There was a point where we were weeks behind in the syllabus (because she was wasting class time discussing nonsense; see above) and when someone asked her when the next quiz would be, she said that we were supposed to be following the Canvas page... okay, but you post them last minute and the information is literally not there, so... ??? Our class met twice a week, yet there were a few times she would wait until the literal hour before I went to bed to post the next day's readings. How annoying. We also had a two-hour movie to watch and 400-word discussion post to do on an asynchronous day and of course she posts it like 12 hours before it's due smh... like we don't have other classes and responsibilities to take care of. Now the worst part about it all is that although she's never seen us in person, she will assume things about your personality, interests, and work ethic based on what she sees in a small Zoom box three hours a week. Like you have no idea who I am, what I do in my free time, or what my accomplishments are. Don't under-estimate me because of your ignorance. Avoid her like the plague!! She's THE worst professor I've had during my time here, and I'm an upper-classman who's dealt with a bunch of STEM courses so yeah... she's pretty bad. |
